Can I get some teens' opinions; is this situation really weird?

So I'm a teen & I have above average hearing skills and I hear conversations from across crowded rooms sometimes. But it's sometimes a problem when I hear private conversations, like when I hear people talking about me. Once, someone was talking about me and I looked over out of curiousity, and he gave me this really weird look, as if shocked I could hear him. Is this weird?? Thanx for your opinions.
