Easy crochet hat for a baby?

I'm wanting to crochet a hat for my best friend's 7 month old son for Christmas and I am having a lot of problems trying to make one. I've tried youtube videos and online patterns and I still can't get it right. Does anyone know of a super easy pattern for me, or have any helpful tips? Thanks for any answers.
