Skinks???????????????????????

i want a lizard and probably want a skink. so i was wondering if fire skinks or red eyed crocodile skinks would make good pets for a 13 year old. i want to know if they are easy to keep, fun to have, handleable, and all that jazz. do they have a personality like a blue tongued skink or what. if neither of them make very good pets i am getting a blue tongued skink.
